THE ROOMS
 

Decorated by Carolyn May of Connecticut, each room at the Coral Sands has its own unique charm. An eclectic mix of caribean colors, wicker furniture and pleasing artwork create a relaxing, homey feel. The Poseidon Restaurant and other common areas feature unique handcarved wood pieces as well lush upholstered furniture for lounging.

The double french doors of the ocean side rooms and suites invite you to get up early, make a cup of coffee and watch the sunrise over the warm tropical waters. The garden view rooms offer a cool respite from the tropical sun and vistas of the tropical landscape.

The honeymoon suite (also called the Crow's Nest) sits atop the main guest building and offers views to east, south and north as well as its own rooftop deck.

You will also find that you have never slept better anywhere ­ every room features Perfomance Latex Mattresses and Pillows, the world's most comfortable bedding.

RESTAURANT

Cordon-Bleu Certified Chef Susan Neff has been hired to run the new Poseidon Restaurant. The updated menu will feature a mixture of classical European dishes and a variety of local Bahamian cuisine such as native conch shellfish, grouper and lobster dishes flavored with fresh herbs from the hotel's own garden.


The Coral Sands Hotel will continue to serve beverages, lunch, dinner
and appetizers from an expanded menu at the island's only beach bar with new extended hours. The bar is being renamed Commander's Beach Bar & Restaurant after a newly-designed house specialty drink – Commander's Choice – with a secret combination of ingredients as refreshing as the island breezes. The beach bar is a popular happy hour destination where guests, locals and even celebrities mingle in a casual, friendly atmosphere.

Comfortable 177 passenger 2-deck high speed ferry boat leaves Nassau every morning at 8.00am, arrives in Harbour Island at 10.15am and returns to Nassau at 3.55pm, arriving at 6.15pm daily except for a 2:00 departure on Sundays, arriving at 4:15 pm.
