German family.
It is a twenty-room resort, spectacularly located on 8 miles of pink sand
Atlantic Ocean beach.
Coral heads right off the beach, make bathing, snorkelling and
SCUBA
diving from the beach easy and convenient. All rooms have private bath,
small patios and king-sized beds, cooled by ocean breezes and ceiling fans.
Cat Island has no casino and no golf
course, not even a commercial bank. As a form of

Food and Drinks
The cookery of the Bahamas has been influenced by many cultures - elements of
the American South, the Caribbean,
Britain,Spain and Africa have altered the course of Bahamian cuisine throughout
history.
Tomato-based dishes, featuring local seafood and meat, and with seasonings such
as thyme and spicy hot peppers,
are frequent and popular main courses, whilst native fruits and locally produced
rum feature in local desserts and cocktails.
The Bahamian Kalik-Beer tastes delicous. The same is with the various Rum-Mixdrinks,
like Bahama Mama or Goombay

and explore the little villages, Port Howe and Bains Town, only 10 to 30 minutes
away from the
resort. Find a gigantic cave in Bains Town and see where the Indians used to
live, and where the locals would go to if a hurricane was approaching.

Greenwood Beach Resort also offers Bonefishing
Greenwood offers fishing with local guides. A honest
word, presently there are no trained experienced guides on Cat Island or
proper flat boats for true bonefishing. The majority of the bonefishing is
done in the creeks that are easily accessed by land. Bones are plentiful in
the creeks and shallow waters of Cat and they have grown to an impressive
size. You can even catch them right off the beach at the resort.
Although the guides have limited professional training
they have been fishing bone for their entire lives and you will enjoy spending
your day on the water with them. They make each trip and experience without
charging you an arm and a leg for it.

After
a long and sunny day just lie back,
enjoy the silence, and listen to the waves rolling ashore. Jump in the
fresh-water pool, and get rid of the salt water

and emerge in the protected waters of Port Howe, where you will find living
