Lodging:
Pittstown Point is an ocean front resort with twelve
island style rooms located on the north west corner of Crooked
Island. Each room has two double beds and a private bath. All rooms and baths
have been recently renovated. Air conditioned rooms are available, but for
those who enjoy the ocean breeze, rooms available with ceiling fans. The hotel
looks out onto the beautiful Bird Rock Lighthouse, which was built in 1876.
Pittstown was originally named after a cotton planter who set up his plantation
there. It then became the main settlement on Crooked Island with mail being
delivered to Pitt's Town by a regular service from England. There are still
remnants of these old settlements. The post office still stands and is the
kitchen at the hotel today. With Crooked Island's incredible fishing,
interesting history, beautiful beaches and water the fisherman as well as the
non-fisher have many activities to choose from. The attentive staff at the
hotel will help to make your stay a delight.

Dining
Our dining room is situated in
a quaint mid-18th century building. This charming structure was the first
Post Office in the Western Hemisphere. Click on photo at right to

The resort dining room offers
three meals a day on a meal package for $60 per day/per person. Pub - fully
stocked with bartender on duty in the early evening; honor system at other
times.
Enjoy superb Bahamian/American
Cuisine while you admire moonlight on the ocean and watch the waves break on
the beach.
Picnic lunches are prepared
with a day's notice. Please let us know if you have any special dietary
needs.
Travel:
Bahamas Air services the island twice a week,
Wednesdays and Saturdays from Nassau. They land at Colonel Hill, a four
thousand foot airstrip on the southwest portion of the island. This is
approximately 30 minutes via road to Pittstown. The hotel will provide the
transportation from the airport. For a more convenient travel charter
flights can also be arranged for you. Pittstown Point has a private air
strip which makes it ideal for private pilots as well as charter
flights.
Other Activities:
Snorkeling and Diving- There
is great snorkeling right off the beach from the rooms, but guided trip can
also be arranged to some of the most beautiful reefs around. If you are a
scuba diver we offer fascinating wall dives just 200 yards off shore guided
by our dive master Robbie Gibson. Please contact us if you would like more
detailed information on the diving. Island Excursions- Another option is to explore our island and visit
some historical and interesting landmarks: Bird Rock Lighthouse, local
caves, old settlement homes, British cannons, secret shell beaches, local
villages, and outlying cays to name a few
