If you want to avoid Nassau (and typically save a day of travel) fly to Fort
Lauderdale and use a private charter service to fly directly to South Andros
Island (TZN), clearing immigration and customs on South Andros Island. This

Your introduction to the

is the calm water of the South Bight. A pleasant and picturesque
fifteen-minute boat ride will carry you to your first vision of
paradise – a simple wooden dock set upon a private, white sand

Checking in is a relaxed affair
in the “Heart of Tiamo”, the main lodge. There are no computers
involved, no television clamors in the background. Check-in is
likely to involve a friendly conversation and a cold drink at
our well-stocked bar.
THE HEART OF TIAMO The main lodge is the “Heart of
Tiamo”, where you gather to eat, drink, and socialize with other
guests. We have an excellent choice of great wines and top-shelf
liquors from a well-stocked bar. The lodge also houses our diverse
Tiamo library, with everything from great works of literature to
field guides and maps of the area. Guests are encouraged to peruse
these books in the lodge, or take them to their bungalows.

After a short orientation with your hosts, Mike and Petagay, you
will want to kick off your shoes for a barefoot stroll beneath
the coconut palms to your private beachfront bungalow. Welcome
to Paradise. Welcome to Tiamo.
ROOM WITH A VIEW Situated on a secluded beach amidst
coconut palms and sea grape trees, are eight individual bungalows
furnished with comfortable and appealing appointments. Designed in
the clean, simple spirit of South Andros Island and built in the
traditional Caribbean style, each is privately spaced and raised up
to greet the incoming sea breezes.

DINING AT TIAMO As a true paradise should,
Tiamo provides guests with a rich and elegant dining experience
unparalleled in the region. Our executive chef Jared Forbes is
one of the most sought-after young culinary artists in the
Bahamas. As this sample menu reflects, Chef Jared has created a
sophisticated variation on classic local themes. Service is of
the highest quality: attentive, unobtrusive, and well-versed in
the subtleties of fine dining. To eat and drink this well, in a
place so remote and serene, is a truly unique opportunity.
At Tiamo we focus
on a high level of service for our limited number of guests. We
currently have space for 16 guests in eight bungalows, with
plans to accommodate our maximum of 22 guests in 11 bungalows
beginning in Fall 2003. At this boat-access only property the
staff/guest ratio will always be at least one to one. Rates at
Tiamo include the following:
